FAQs for Investors

Why do investors share their mandate information with BHA?

BHA provides a free service that helps investors filter and source fund managers. Investors who use BHA's service are able to find fund managers that are a precise fit for their mandates.

I'm contacted by plenty of managers. How could you help me?

BHA believes investors would prefer to be contacted by suitable managers rather than numerous managers. Our goal is to understand the types of funds investors are interested in and connect them with qualified managers.

What's special about BHA's service?

BHA has an analyst team that keeps their ear to the ground by speaking with alternative institutional investors across the globe. Investors identify current trends to research through their conversations with BHA's analysts.

Are there any other benefits?

BHA takes the currently chaotic and laborious process of finding potential fund managers and makes it simple, fast, and painless.

What types of investors use your service?

BHA's worldwide coverage of allocators to alternative asset classes spans 15 separate categories, including single-family and multifamily offices, endowments, foundations, government and corporate pensions, wealth advisors, and private banks.

What types of alternative investment funds use your company's services?

BHA's clients range from spinoff and emerging funds with less than $100 million under management to the most established and recognizable names in the industry. Our fund manager clients include hedge funds, funds of funds, and private equity, venture capital, and real estate funds.

How many funds are you working with?

Since inception, BHA has worked with more than 350 clients, including some of the largest global multiasset managers in the industry.

Do you conduct due diligence on fund managers?

No, BHA does not conduct due diligence on our clients. We look for stable fund-management teams with a dedicated investor relations or marketing contact who responds to the flow of investor information from their BHA analyst.

Do managers contact me by phone or e-mail?

BHA's service is investor-focused. Investors are able to specify the preferred method of contact and the time of day that best suits their schedule.

How is your company compensated?

BHA's service is free to investors. Our revenue is derived from fund manager clients that pay an annual subscription fee for access to our mandate database. We do not charge fund managers the success fees that third-party marketers and placement agents typically require.
