Daniel C. McDermott, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
McDermott founded BHA as a means to solve the glaring inefficiencies of the hedge fund marketing process. As a hedge fund industry veteran, he utilized his experience and contacts to realize his vision of the SalesDesk solution. This software improves the sales efforts of fund marketers and managers around the world. Prior to creating BHA, McDermott was co-founder and Managing Director of Coastal Partners, Ltd. a multi-disciplined alternative investment firm that specialized in marketing hedge fund vehicles to sophisticated clients in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Dennis Ford, President and Chief Operations Officer
Ford is responsible for the overall business growth at BHA. He has 25 years experience primarily working with emerging technology companies. Ford is an expert in using database services as part of business solutions and using the Internet to help create interactive dialog between seller and buyer. Ford is a big proponent of using profiling and matching technology to find that all important “business fit” as part of a marketing and selling process. Before BHA, Ford was a Director and Vice President of Business Development at Refresh Software Corp., Waltham, MA, where he introduced and marketed Component Content Management solutions. Prior to that Ford was VP of Sales and Business Development at Avaki, which was sold to Sybase. Earlier Ford was Vice President of Business Development at Engage Software, in Andover, MA (a wholly-owned subsidiary of CMGI), where he ran the Software and Data Services Division and ramped it up to $50 million in 24 months. Ford is also the author of a well received book on selling, www.peddlersprerogative.com
Marc D. Avila, Chief Technology Officer
Avila, a seasoned web professional, is responsible for the continued development and evolution of the BHA SalesDesk platform including system design, technical support and management of BHA’s team of software developers. He is also charged with creating a deep technology development and support organization and managing all outside technology vendor relationships. Marc also serves as CEO of 3 Media Web Solutions, Inc., a New England based web development company.
Glenn Goldstein, Director of Sales
As Director of Sales, Goldstein is responsible for managing the Global Sales and Marketing activities at Brighton House. He brings over 20 years of Financial and Business Services industry experience to BHA. Throughout his career, Goldstein has been recognized as a top producer having built and managed successful teams at several well-known financial services institutions including John Hancock, The Hartford, CNA and ESI. Goldstein holds a BS in Business Administration from Bryant University.
Nicholas Barnes, General Counsel and Director of Communities and Compliance
Barnes is responsible for the next generation of BHA’s cutting edge technology, integrating virtual marketplace and community elements for tomorrow’s investors and funds. He holds a law degree from one of the top intellectual property schools in the country, as well as a background in Management Information Systems. Barnes also serves as BHA’s compliance and legal counsel .
