“I attended BHA’s conference last year and allocated to a manager that I met there. Prior to the event I pre-screened the managers using an online portal, and I subsequently met with 12 straight alternative credit managers that I had preselected. BHA’s conference was one of the most efficient events in the industry and I was able to meet with and diligence top-quality managers.”
J. Patrick Barry, Chief Investment Officer, Granite Hall Partners
Senior leaders and influencers from top institutions and family offices converged at historic Fenway Park to create new partnerships at BHA’s signature conference. The focused two-day event connected investors with established and emerging fund managers with strong investment teams and compelling strategies. It featured a 1:1 meeting format, networking, special events, and industry panels packed with top experts in their fields – from economic policy makers, think-tanks and research institutes, to your colleagues and peers.
The focused one-day connectivity forum is designed to provide direct access to new partnerships between General Partners and Limited Partners on September 20th. In addition to our signature 1:1 meeting format, the forum includes a moderated panel discussion from industry experts on energy, and a Next-Gen innovation presentation featuring teams from MIT’s 100K Entrepreneurship Competition.
Registration granted access to potential new capital and long-term LP relationships. BHA evaluated each fund based on the strength of the investment team, the investment strategy, past fund performance and track record. Funds were chosen from a wide range of asset classes and strategies. Additionally, a portion of the manager slots were reserved for new launches and pedigreed emerging managers. 100 asset managers hosted qualified hedge fund investors in private luxury box suites overlooking the ball-field and the Onsite Marketplace.
Investors in attendance included CIO’s, Portfolio Managers, and Analysts at pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, fund of funds, endowments, and foundations.
Sophisticated investors from some of the world’s largest and most prestigious pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, fund of funds, endowments, and foundations had 1:1 meetings with funds that meet their needs and values. Unlike other conferences that provide a self-service format, BHA offered an investor concierge service to ensure an efficient use of their time. BHA’s knowledgeable staff are always available and open to learn investors’ needs and reach out to attending funds and new funds to create a custom conference experience with prequalified meetings.

Chanos the founder and Managing Partner of Kynikos Associates LP and from the private markets sector, Franklin “Pitcher” Johnson the founder of Asset Management Company at the BHA Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
Mr. Chanos and Mr. Johnson received their awards from BHA CEO and Founder Daniel McDermott, which were followed by very personal keynote speeches where each recalled moments throughout their lives that lead to their success within their respective markets.
