While there are many hedge fund and private equity databases, most are out of date and are based on reporting from funds that cannot be verified. The accuracy of the data is very hard to confirm. In many cases, whole sections of funds may be missing from these data sources. For example, many top-tier funds do not report to, and hold back information from, these databases.
