INTERNSHIP
BHA is interested in hearing from qualified candidates for research internship positions. Individuals will work from the firm’s Southborough headquarters and will be responsible for researching sophisticated institutional and private investors. Interns will be responsible for basic maintenance work on an alternative asset focused investor database. This includes cleaning and vetting existing client lists, updating critical data points and adding new investors to the system. Finally, the position may require interns to contribute to a weekly industry newsletter that is distributed to over 30,000 professionals. The ability to write clearly and professionally on various aspects of the alternative investment industry in a timely manner is required.
An ideal candidate will have course experience in business, finance, economics, marketing or a related area. Prior experience with qualitative or quantitative research/analysis a plus. Individuals must have an eye for detail, the drive to take ownership of their work and standout in a team environment. RESEARCH ANALYST
BHA is actively seeking new Research Analysts to join an already impressive group of individuals. The majority of the job is researching and speaking to (over the phone) sophisticated institutional investors in order to learn of their current activity and interests. Analysts are also expected to manage 5-6 fund manager clients; assisting in sourcing qualified investors for their funds, providing timely support for marketing road shows, and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of investors. In addition, Analysts are expected to write weekly and quarterly articles for the company’s various publications, which are distributed to over 30,000 industry contacts.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, marketing or a related field. Individuals will work from the firm’s Southborough headquarters and will be responsible for researching sophisticated institutional and private investors. A passion for financial markets, a drive to excel and a keen eye for detail are all essential characteristics of the Research Analyst position. Prior experience making a minimum amount of phone calls per day or knowledge of the alternative investment industry would be a bonus. Candidates must have superior writing and verbal communication skills, as well as a persuasive and amiable demeanor. LEAD ARCHITECT/DATABASE ENGINEER
Job Duties: Develop standards to guide use and acquisition of software and secure vulnerable information. Test and modify databases and database management systems. Guide programmers to make changes. Coordinate and monitor technical web based projects from initiation through delivery. Ensure technical standards of quality, timeliness and performance are met. Coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard databases on servers against accidental or unauthorized damage and modification. Specify and train users and integrate different products, such as customized commercial databases to fit specific needs. Code, test, debug, implement, and document highly complex programs. Develop complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. Collaborate with management, sales and research analysts to assess needs and gather requirements. Engage in in-depth analysis, formulating workable solutions to complicated software and database issues.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field plus two (2) years experience in the Job Offered, Engineer, Database Administrator or related.
