Executive Management Team

Daniel C. McDermott, Founder

Dan McDermott founded BHA to solve the glaring inefficiencies of the hedge fund marketing process. As a hedge fund industry veteran, he used his experience and contacts to realize his vision of the SalesDesk solution. This software improves the sales efforts of fund marketers and managers around the world. Prior to founding BHA, Dan was Co-founder and Managing Director of Coastal Partners, Ltd., a multidisciplined alternative investment firm that specialized in marketing hedge fund vehicles to sophisticated clients in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Dennis Ford, President and Chief Executive Officer

Dennis Ford is responsible for the overall business growth at BHA. He has 25 years experience working primarily with emerging technology companies. Dennis is an expert in using database services as part of business solutions, and using the Internet to help create interactive dialog between sellers and buyers. Dennis is a big proponent of using profiling and matching technology to find that all important “business fit” in the marketing and selling process. Prior to joining BHA, Dennis was a Director and Vice President of Business Development at Refresh Software Corporation, where he introduced and marketed Component Content Management solutions; Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Avaki (subsequently sold to Sybase); and Vice President of Business Development at Engage Software (a wholly-owned subsidiary of CMGI), where he ran the Software and Data Services Division and ramped it up to $50 million in 24 months. Dennis also is the author of The Peddler’s Prerogative, a well-received book on selling (see www.thepeddlersprerogative.com).

Marc D. Avila, Chief Technology Officer

Marc Avila, a seasoned Web professional and technology champion, is responsible for defining the company's long-term strategy and vision through the use of next generation technology, including the continued development and evolution of the BHA SalesDesk platform and communities. He also is charged with creating a deep, internal technology development and support organization, and managing all outside technology vendor relationships. During the past eight years, as CEO of 3 Media Web Solutions, a New England-based Web development company, Marc has been involved with leading the development of numerous Web applications. Marc attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA.

Glenn Goldstein, Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Glenn Goldstein is responsible for managing the day to day efforts at BHA. He brings over 20 years of financial and business services industry experience to BHA. Throughout his career, Glenn has been recognized as a top producer, having built and managed successful teams at several well-known financial services institutions including John Hancock, The Hartford, CAN, and ESI. Glenn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bryant University.

David Hatch, Vice President of Product Development

David Hatch is responsible for product strategy, project management, and technical architecture for the next generation of BHA’s internal and external systems. He has extensive experience in building large-scale, data-intensive, Internet applications for ISPs, media companies, and Web 2.0 social networking sites. During the past 15 years, David has held senior technical management positions for numerous Internet ventures ranging from multinational media corporations (such as CBS and News Corp) to Internet systems builders (such as CMGi Solutions and Delphi Internet) and venture-backed start-up companies (such as Gather.com, Peoplestreet, and Avalere, which is now part of Iron Mountain Digital). David holds graduate degrees in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Arizona. In addition to his technical expertise, David brings in-depth knowledge in the areas of Internet community development and social networking to the BHA team.

Richard P. White, Vice President of Finance & Administration

As Vice President of Finance and Administration, Rick White is responsible to the President for all financial and administrative matters of Brighton House and establishes company wide financial and administrative objectives, policies, programs and practices which insure the company has a continuously sound financial structure. Rick manages the capital and assets of the company as well as all accounting, HR and general office functions.

Rick brings to Brighton House over 25 years of accounting, administration, operations and management experience from the consulting, energy, transportation, waste management and manufacturing industries.

Research Management Team

CT McLean, Senior Research Manager

CT McLean is the Senior Research Manager at BHA and directs the overall path of the research team. CT manages major strategic client accounts, assists with the training and development of interns and new employees, and writes extensively for the BHA Monitor and Quarterly Report. Prior to joining BHA in January 2008, CT was a Senior Fund Accountant at State Street Bank & Trust in Boston, working primarily with institutional money market mutual funds. CT received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and a minor in Legal Studies from Bryant University in 2006.

Ryan Cunningham, Research Manager

Ryan Cunningham is one of the founding members of BHA. Ryan manages a team of analysts and is responsible for all marketing initiatives at BHA. Ryan graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services. Prior to joining BHA, Ryan worked at Fidelity Investments as a pension analyst.

Michael Marolda, Research Manager

Michael Marolda is one of the founding members of BHA. Mike manages a staff of analysts and is part of the data vetting and procurement team. Mike also is liaison to engineering for product development. Mike received a Bachelor of Arts in political science and economics, and a minor in Italian, from the University of Vermont. Michael attended Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy, where he studied Italian and the economics of European integration. 

Renee Astphan, Research Manager

Renee Astphan, one of the founding members of BHA, manages a team of research analysts and writes for the BHA Investor Monitor. Renee owns all BHA client statistics and tracks all client subscriptions for trial and contract renewals. Renee graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a minor in French.

Micah Jacobs, Research Manager

Micah Jacobs manages a team of research analysts, writes for the BHA Investor Monitor and BHA Quarterly Research Report, and is part of the data vetting and procurement team. Micah stated his career in IT-related research at Nucleus Research. Micah has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont and is pursuing an MBA at Babson College.

Blakemore Foster, Research Manager

Blakemore Foster manages a team of research analysts, runs the BHA internship program with the University of Massachusetts Boston Campus, and handles major opportunities and strategic accounts. Blake is the Editor in Chief of the BHA Quarterly Research Report. He has a degree from Colby College in history.

Technology Management Team

Michael J. DeFraga, Principal Architect / Application Engineer

Michael DeFraga is responsible for overseeing all existing products and all interactive community aspects of the SalesDesk platform. Prior to joining BHA, Mike was focused on consumer dialog and interaction on the Internet. Mike also serves as President of 3 Media Web Solutions, Inc., a New England-based Web development company.

Subramaniam Nandigrama, Architect / Database Engineer

Subramaniam Nandigrama has over six years of experience in Web Application Development, specializing in the full life cycle of application design including requirements definition, prototyping, design, interface implementation, database design, testing, and maintenance. He attended University of Houston where he earned a master’s degree in computer science.
